THINGS I'VE LEARNED IN THE PAST FEW WEEKS

I've come across some interesting info and a few minor revelations in the past few weeks, somewhat boring, but consider this a mini brain dump.

  • While "slow dancing" is relatively simple, there are people who are "good" at it and people who are "bad".
  • You can slow dance anywhere if you really want to. Bowling alleys are fine, pool halls are OK, movie theaters are not recommended.
  • Having a cute guy kiss you on the hand when he is being sincere [as opposed to an overdramatic twit] is one of the nicest gestures ever.
  • If you know that a person or persons in your life is/are prone to being self-centered, immature and/or untrustworthy then you must accept that this is not going to spontaneously change and you either need to accept it and keep your distance or cut your losses and move on completely.
  • Never underestimate your love for an animal, it can drive you to such acts as say attacking the Chinese food delivery guy. [What?! I'm just sayin' as a hypothetical ...]
  • Women can have "beer muscles" too.
  • Jameson and Southern Comfort are the same color, however they are NOT the same flavor. Consider yourself warned.
  • What you might consider a small gesture could mean the world to someone else.
  • Chatting with a friend over lunch can make the rest of the day seem brighter.
  • When someone really deserves it, a tongue lashing is just as satisfying as a physical one.
  • Nothing beats the blues better than a hug from a small child.
  • Dogs and some cats will eat Cherrios.
  • Letting cats eat donuts, however, is not recommended.
  • Speaking of cats, they don't care if the tree is fake, they will try to climb it anyway. [If it's a real tree they drink the water from the base too.]
  • When taking a car in for a few "small maintenance" issues, nothing about the ensuing transaction will be "small"
  • There is direct, inverse correlation between the size of one's front lawn and the number of blow-up holiday ornaments on it.
  • You might be able to get a cat to wear a mini Santa hat - for a few seconds. You might be able to get a cat to sit in front of a Christmas tree. You might be able to get the cat to look at the camera to get a cute pic. It is impossible to make all of the aforementioned happen simultaneously no matter how many treats you feed the cat.
  • Making homemade holiday cards sounds like a fun and adorable idea - until you realize you have to make 100 of them.
