MONOPOLY NOSTALGIA DEAD

Board game beamouth, Parker Brothers, is replacing all that multi colored cash with a plastic "debit" card and card reader.

Spokesman Chris Weatherhead said: "The new electronic Monopoly reflects the changing nature of society and the advancement of technology."

Mental math surrenders.

My opinion is that this is a combination of trying to "jazz up" the game and the thought that mass-producing these cards/readers is just as cheap as printing the money and they can charge more for it.

Hopefully nobody will buy it.

According to something in Newsday today, they are initially doing it in Britain and are only thinking about it here. They must of struck some deal with Visa.
